Planning your wedding transport- Where do i begin?
We understand that planning your wedding transport can be overwhelming so we have created this guide to help steer you in the right direction and ask the important questions when organising your wedding cars.
Choosing your style
The style or theme of your wedding will largely influence many of the decisions you make for your special day. Be it your ceremony, photography locations, reception venue and of course your transport, choose a theme or style that truly reflects your personality. Your theme can be built from a colour palette, the season or time of year, or the vision for your bridal gown.
Your wedding day transport can be as elaborate or as understated as you wish. You may wish for your transport to feature in your photographs and helping tell the story of your special day, or you may wish for your transport to purely serve as your way of going from place ‘A’ to place ‘B’. Whatever your desires, always be true to yourselves as a couple.
Here at Triple R, our fleet of over 33 classic European vehicles comprising of Rolls Royce, Bentley, Jaguar, Mercedes, and Daimler offer you a luxurious ride and present as a beautiful backdrop for your wedding day photographs. Whichever theme you choose, classic vehicles are a wonderful way to add a touch of sophistication that never goes out of style!

Plan early to avoid disappointment
The earlier you enquire and plan for your wedding day transport, the more likely you will be able to secure the vehicle which will fit seamlessly into your wedding theme. During peak wedding periods throughout Spring, Summer, and Autumn (October – late April), car availability may be limited due to greater client demand. The earlier in advance you can plan your transport, the greater the opportunity you will have of fulfilling your every desire. Here at Triple R, it is not uncommon for cars to be booked up to one year in advance, so early enquiries and organisation are welcome and encouraged.
Travel in comfort and luxury on your special day
To ensure that appropriate cars are arranged it is important to start to plan your bridal party and its needs on the day. Consider the following questions:
-Will both the bride and groom need transport to the ceremony?
-Do you require vehicles for the bridal party? If so, how many?
-You will need to factor in how many are in your bridal party and how many each car will seat.
-Do you require vehicles for the parents’ of the bride and groom? Traditionally the bride and her father will be transported to the ceremony in a separate car from the bridesmaids.
-Will all the whole bridal party require transport after the wedding ceremony?
-Do the bride and groom require transport after the reception to hotel?
Additionally, depending on the type of vehicle you wish to travel in, the number of occupants per vehicle may be limited. For example, Triple R offers multiple 4 seater Rolls Royce, Bentley, and Jaguar sedans. Whilst these vehicles typically seat up to 4 passengers, factors to consider may include:
-Does the bride require additional room for her bridal gown? This may reduce the number of passengers in the Bride’s car to 3 rather than 4 (ie. Bride and the Bride’s parents, or Maid of Honour with the Bride and the Bride’s father). This will ensure the bride’s gown remains as radiant as the bride herself!
-Is it likely to be a warm/hot day? No bride or bridesmaid enjoys the experience of melting makeup, whilst no groom or groomsman enjoys the backseat huddle in a 3-piece suit on a 35 degree day! Consider additional space with additional cars for ultimate comfort and luxury
Planning your schedule for the day
We encourage you to spend some time considering how your day will unfold and the logistics of your schedule. Generally, wedding transport companies will have a minimum duration for your booking, followed by a per hour charge thereafter. Your schedule will determine the duration for which you require your wedding transport.
Some Important factors to plan for include:
-The day of the week, and how traffic flow may be impacted
-The route you wish to travel and the time it takes to do this
-Public and sporting events which may be occurring on the same day, and therefore impact on travel times and routes
-Where will your photographs take place? How much travel time is required from the location of your ceremony to the location/s of your photographs?
-Time required by your photographer at the locations you choose
-Alternate locations for your photography should poor weather be a factor
A good supplier will be committed to assisting all couples in planning their schedule involving transport, and will happily offer advice on any of the above factors. After 35 years of service, there is no situation or set of circumstances that Triple has not encountered previously, and therefore we can offer expert advice on any of the above factors and beyond to ensure you special day runs exactly as you plan.
Choosing your wedding car hire operator
Now that you have decided what type/colour and style of cars you want its time to find the right supplier to provide you with these vehicles. Some questions and thoughts to consider when choosing the right operator are below
- Is this company credible and part of any associations?
- Do they hold the necessary license with the state government and/or taxi directorate?
- Will I be able to view the cars before I book them? And will these be the same cars on my wedding day?
- Is this company just a booking agent or do they run and own their own fleet?
- Do they have a contingency plan in the event that there is a mechanical failure?
- Will they have enough cars for my bridal party?
- Do the cars look well maintained and clean?
- Do your research online and read previous customers reviews for peace of mind.
- The cheapest option is not always the better option especially when its your wedding day.
- How much deposit is required to secure the car, and are their payment plans available?
